Configuring Trap Destinations
The Trap Destinations screen supports identification of a network management
server to which traps can be sent from Eclipse via its network management network.
Two modes are supported, ProVision or Third Party:
• ProVision Mode sends a common trap for all alarms, alerting ProVision to break
its polling cycle and go straight to the alarmed Eclipse.
• Third Party Mode sends traps specific to each alarm, providing a description of the
event and it severity.
Figure shows an example Trap Destinations screen. The example shows a
destination configured for a third-party server, and a new (unconfigured) destination
added.
