Chapter4. Eclipse Edge Configuration and Diagnostics
Diagnostics
The Portal diagnostics screens are used to source status and performance
information about Eclipse Edge, and to set diagnostic modes for testing and
fault-finding.
The screens included in the Portal Diagnostic Menu are:
System Summary on page 82
Event Browser on page 84
Alarms on page 87
History on page 88
Performance on page 95
System/Controls on page 104
Parts on page 114

Online Help and Context Sensitive Help
Two Diagnostics screens, Event Browser and Alarms, support context sensitive help
for events and alarms. This help requires installation of the Eclipse Online Help.
Additionally, most Portal screens support context sensitive help from Eclipse Online
Help, where by clicking the Help button in the Toolbar (or Context Sensitive Help,
under Help in the Menu bar) you are brought into the relevant section of the Eclipse
User manual.

Eclipse Online Help
Eclipse Online Help is a web-based (html) helpset for the Eclipse User Manual. It is
installed on your Portal PC, and is launched when prompted from Portal.
Its installation is prompted from an installer on the Eclipse Setup CD, which includes
both the Portal and Online Help applications.
For information on the installation process, and navigation of online help, refer to
Eclipse Edge Configuration and Diagnostics, Online Help for Edge.
Depending on the selected prompt, the online help is opened to provide:
General user manual online help. Opens the web-based version of the Eclipse
user manual. It is launched by clicking Help in the Portal menu bar and selecting
Eclipse Manual, or Portal Manual. The Portal manual is a subset of the Eclipse
manual.
Context sensitive online help. This is launched by:
•Clicking F1.
Clicking Help in the Portal toolbar.
