Antennas and ODUspe Mounting
Antennas for direct mounting the ODUspe are available in diameters from 0.3m (1ft)
to 1.8m (6ft), depending on the frequency band. These antennas are high
performance, low profile shielded types from Andrew Corporation, and are supplied
without the normal rectangular waveguide feed. Instead there is simply a circular
feed-point that connects directly to the ODUspe, or to the ODUspe coupler unit, for
1+1 hot-standby configurations.
Each ODUspe is supplied with a collar plate for direct attachment to the antenna.
V or H polarization selection is made by rotating the ODU.
Antenna mounts are designed for use on industry-standard 115 mm OD (4.5 inch)
pipe-mounts.

The IDU-ODU cable is industrial-grade Cat 5e compliant, Belden 7921A or
equivalent.
Summary specifications:
• UV and oil-resistant industrial grade PVC jacket.
• Eight 24 AWG so9lid copper conductors (four pairs).
• Foil and tinned copper braid shielding with drain wire.
• Outer diameter 8mm (0.33 inches).
• Operating Temperature Range -40°C To +75°C.
• Min. Bend Radius (Install) 3.5 cm (1.33 inches).
• Maximum Conductor DC Resistance @ 20 Deg. C 9.38 Ohms/100 m.
The ODU cable is available in 50m or 90m kits comprising:
• Cable assembly with a weatherized RJ-45 connector and ground wire at one end, and
unterminated at the other.
• Shielded RJ-45 connector, for terminating the ODU cable at the IDU/RAC end.
• Cable ground kits for grounding the cable to the to tower. The kits includes clamps
for fastening the ground wires to the tower, and weatherproofing mastic tape.
• An installation instruction sheet.
