A foam rubber edge between case and detector protects the
electronics of the hand probe from humidity and water. The 8-
pin cable connection from the basic unit LB 134 is waterproof.
The protective case accommodates an electronic board (con-
tamination probe adapter) which is connected to the respective
counter tube via a flat ribbon cable and serves to identify the
detectors. The connected probe type is transferred to the soft-
ware program in the LB 134 and there it activates the respec-
tive parameters and calibration factors.
