The first tag defines the pulse duration. The next information is the phase cycle. The 
phase cycle is not defined at the end of the pulse program but is an integral part of the 
pulse definition. Please note, that the phases are written explicitly because they are 
fixed values for a given pulse program. So, they don’t have to be extracted from the 
Jcamp file. The same syntax is also possible for durations or amplitudes by replacing the 
<JcampKw> tag by <VALUE> tags. The following information is the pulse amplitude. 
Once again, it is taken from the Avance pre-compiler. In this case pl1. The last informa-
tion is about the pulse shape. If it is a hard pulse, the shape quantity is “0”, meaning that 
no information is available. Otherwise, the name of the shape file has to be given here.
If the phase cycle has to be incremented in a 2D experiment, an <Inc> tag has to be 
used. In the following example, the phase list is incremented by 1 for each new slice of 
the 2D experiment.
