THROTTLE BODY 4.42
GENERAL
See Figure 4-105. The throttle body consists of the following
components:
● Fuel supply fitting.
● Idle speed adjustment screw.
● Cable bracket.
● Throttle position sensor.
● Throttle lever.
REMOVAL

To prevent spray of fuel, purge system of high-pressure
fuel before supply line is disconnected. Gasoline is
extremely flammable and highly explosive, which could
result in death or serious injury. (00275a)
1. Purge the fuel supply line of high pressure gasoline.
a. See Figure 4-104. Disconnect the 4-place fuel pump
connector [86]. Connector is located on the left side,
above the fuel pump.
b. With the motorcycle in neutral, start the engine and
allow vehicle to run.
c. When the engine stalls, press the starter button for 3
seconds to remove any remaining fuel from fuel line.
d. Reconnect fuel pump connector.
2. Remove air cleaner assembly. See 4.44 AIR CLEANER
ASSEMBLY.
3. Label and detach throttle cables. See 2.23 THROTTLE
CONTROL.
4. See Figure 4-106. On California models, pull EVAP hose
from fitting (1).
5. Remove left and right air scoops. See 2.38 AIR
SCOOPS.
6. Remove ignition coil. See 4.32 IGNITION COIL.
