Diagnostic tools
imagePRESS Server diagnostic tools include copier interface board diagnostics and E-mail
diagnostics.
Copier interface board diagnostics
If you suspect that there may be a problem with the copier interface board (for example, the
quality of print output is poor), you can run the Video Diagnostics from the copier
touch panel to make sure that the copier interface board is installed properly.
TO RUN COPIER INTERFACE BOARD DIAGNOSTICS
1. Access the Info screen from the copier touch panel and make sure that Idle appears
(see page 35).
If Printing or RIPping appears on the touch panel, the imagePRESS Server is processing and
you must wait until the system finishes and reaches the Idle state.
If the system has just finished processing, wait at least five seconds after the system reaches
Idle before beginning the copier interface board diagnostics.
2. Press the Functions button to display the Functions menu.
3. Press the down arrow to advance to Run Diagnostics.
4. At the Diagnostics screen, select Video Diagnostics.
5. If the screen displays the message “Video diags failed,” do the following:
• Power off the imagePRESS Server and open the system.
• Reseat the copier interface board.
• Inspect the copier interface cable.
• Power on the imagePRESS Server and run the test again. If the test still fails, you may need
to replace the copier interface board.
6. When the message “Video diags passed” appears, select Done to return to the
Functions menu.
