Test E-mail
This diagnostic tool allows you to perform a quick test of the imagePRESS Server E-mail
feature without actually having to submit a print job as an e-mail attachment. Test E-mail
diagnostic causes the system to send an e-mail to itself. You review the results of the test by
printing an E-mail log through the Functions menu.
TO RUN TEST E-MAIL
1. Access the Info screen from the copier touch panel and make sure that Idle appears
(see page 35).
If Printing or RIPping appears on the touch panel, the imagePRESS Server is processing and
you must wait until the system finishes and reaches the Idle state.
If the system has just finished processing, wait at least five seconds after the system reaches
Idle before beginning the shutdown procedure.
2. Press the Functions button to display the Functions menu.
3. Press the down arrow to advance to Run Diagnostics.
4. At the Diagnostics screen, select Test E-mail.
The message “Testing test e-mail. Check E-mail log for result” appears on the copier
touch panel.
5. To print the E-mail Log, press Done to return to the Functions menu, press Print Pages, and
then select E-mail Log.
The imagePRESS Server sends the E-mail Log to the copier.
6. On the E-mail Log, locate the results of the test in the Status column.
A successful transmission indicates that the imagePRESS Server will be able to send an e-mail
over the network. A failed transmission indicates a problem with the imagePRESS Server
Setup options. Advise the network administrator to confirm Setup options. For more
information, see Configuration and Setup on the User Documentation CD.
