theconditionsforeseenbyCASECONSTRUCTIONdur-
ingnormaloperation,routineservice,andmaintenance.
Thismanualdoesnotcontainalltheinformationthatre-
latestoperiodicservice,conversions,andrepairsthat
onlytrainedservicepersonnelcanperform.Someof
theseactivitiesmayrequireappropriatefacilities,techni-
calskills,and/ortoolsthatCASECONSTRUCTIONdoes
notsupplywiththemachine.

Normaloperation
Normaloperationconsistsoftheuseofthismachine
forthepurposeCASECONSTRUCTIONintendsbyan
operatorthat:

Isfamiliarwiththemachineandanymountedequip-
mentortowedequipment
•
Complieswiththeinformationonoperationandsafe
practicesasspeciedbyCASECONSTRUCTIONin
thismanualandbythesignsonthemachine
Normaloperationincludes:
•
Preparationandstorageofthemachine
•
Additionandremovalofballast
•
Connectionanddisconnectionofmountedequipment
and/ortowedequipment
•
Adjustmentandcongurationofthemachineand
equipmentforthespecicconditionsofthejobsite,
eld,and/orcrop
•
Movementofcomponentsintoandoutofworkingpo-
sitions
Routineserviceandmaintenance
Routineserviceandmaintenanceconsistsofthedaily
activitiesnecessarytomaintainthepropermachine
function.Theoperatormust:
•
Befamiliarwiththemachinecharacteristics
•
Complywiththeinformationonroutineserviceandsafe
practicesasspeciedbyCASECONSTRUCTIONin
thismanualandbythesignsonthemachine
Routineservicecaninclude:
•
Fueling
•
Cleaning
•
Washing
•
Toppingupuidlevels
•
Greasing
•
Replacingconsumableitemssuchaslightbulbs
Periodicservice,conversions,andrepairs
Periodicserviceconsistsofactivitiesthatarenecessary
tomaintaintheexpectedlifeoftheCASECONSTRUC-
TIONmachine.Theseactivitieshavedenedintervals.
Trainedservicepersonnelfamiliarwiththemachinechar-
acteristicsmustperformtheseactivitiesatthedened
intervals.Trainedservicepersonnelmustcomplywith
theinformationonperiodicserviceandsafepracticesas
partlyspeciedbyCASECONSTRUCTIONinthisman-
ualand/orothercompanyliterature.
Periodicserviceincludes:
•
Oilchangeservicefortheengine,hydrauliccircuits,or
transmission
•
Periodicexchangeofothersubstancesorcomponents
asrequired
ConversionactivitiesrebuildtheCASECONSTRUCTION
machineinacongurationthatisappropriatefora
specicjobsite,crop,and/orsoilconditions(e.g.,
installationofdualwheels).Conversionactivitiesmust
bedone:
•
Bytrainedservicepersonnelfamiliarwiththemachine
characteristics
•
Bytrainedservicepersonnelthatcomplywiththe
informationonconversionaspartlyspeciedbyCASE
CONSTRUCTIONinthismanual,assemblyinstruc-
tions,and/orothercompanyliterature
RepairactivitiesrestoreproperfunctiontoaCASECON-
STRUCTIONmachineafterafailureordegradationof
performance.Dismantlingactivitiesoccurduringthe
scrappingand/ordismantlingofthemachine.
Trainedservicepersonnelfamiliarwiththemachinechar-
acteristicsmustperformtheseactivities.Trainedservice
personnelmustcomplywiththeinformationforrepairas
speciedbyCASECONSTRUCTIONintheserviceman-
ual.
