Checkthebelttensionevery250h.
NOTICE:Operatingtheenginewithloosenedbeltmaycauseinsufcientchargingofthebatteryduetoslippingbelt
initshousing.
Applyngerpressureofabout10kg(22.0lb)centerof
thebeltwhiletheengineisshutdownandthestarter
keyisremoved.
Looseoftensionshouldbeabout11–13mm(0.433–
0.512in).
NOTE:Checkanyindicationofdamageonthepulleyor
beltduetowear.Checkthoroughlytomakesurethatthe
beltiscorrectlyengagedtogrooveofthepulley.Thebelt
mustbereplacedifitiselongated,ithascracksoritisworn
out.

Adjustmentoftension
1.Slightlyloosenthelocknut(1)andthebolt(2)ofthe
generator.
2.Turntheadjustbolt(3)ofthegeneratorsothatthebelt
tensioniswithinthespeciedrange.
3.Tightenthelocknut(1)andthebolt(2)tothespecied
torque.
Locknut(1)tighteningtorque:84–102N·m(62–75lb
ft)
Bolt(2)tighteningtorque:141–172N·m(104–127lb
ft)

Replacementofbelt
NOTICE:Ifthebeltbreaks,themessageALTERNATORisdisplayed.Stoptheengine,removethestarterkey,and
thenreplacethebelt.
1.Loosenthelocknut(1)andthebolt(2).
2.Removethebelt.
3.Installanewbelt,andadjustthebelttension.
4.Aftertheadjustment,runtheengineattheidlingspeed
forapproximately5min,andthenstoptheengineto
recheckthebelttension.
