Checkthewaterdepositatthebottomofeachlterbodyevery10horeveryday.
Theseparationofwatermixedtothefuelshouldbemainlydoneinthefuelpre-lter.Nevertheless,watermaypass
anddepositatthebottomofthefuellterbody.Makesuretoregularlydrainwaterfromthepre-lter,andfrom
themainlterifneeded,inordertokeeptheoverallperformanceoftheltersandtoavoidseveredamagesto
thefuelinjectionsystem.
NOTICE:Incoldweather,watermayfreezeontopofthelterbodies.Waituntilicemeltsbeforedrainage.
Iftheoatingringinthepre-lterreachesthelevelindi-
catedbytheline(A)proceedasfollows:
1.Placeacontainerwithanappropriatecapacitybelow
theendofthedrainhose(1).
2.Loosenthedrainplug(2)andtheairbleedplug(3),and
drainwaterfromthepre-lterbody.
3.Whentheoatingringreachesthebottomofthelter
body,tightenthedrainplug(2)andtheairbleedplug
(3).Thetighteningtorqueofthedrainplugmustbe2
–3N·m(1.48–2.21lbft),andthetighteningtorqueof
theairbleedplugmustbe8–12N·m(5.90–8.85lb
ft).
NOTICE:Overtighteningcandamagetheseal.
4.Checkthemainlterbodies:iftheoatingringinthe
mainltersreachesthelevelindicatedbytheline(B)
proceedasforthepre-lter.Thepositionsofthedrain
plug(4)andoftheairbleedplug(5)ofthefuelmain
ltersareshowninthepicture.
5.Checkforanyleakfromthelterbodies.
