systemofthemachine.Ifairbleedingisnotcompleted
after5min,stoptheprocedureandturnthestarterkey
toOFFpositionfor2min.Thenturnthestarterkeyto
ONpositionagainandcompletethebleedingproce-
dure.
7.Turntheheadoftheprimingpiston(3)totheleft.The
pistonisthusunlocked.Pumpagainstthepriming
pistontohelpfuelowintothelterbody.
8.Aftersomeseconds,snugtightentheairbleedplug
(2),thenrestartpumpingagainsttheprimingpistonto
llthelterbody.Astheprimingpistonbecomeshard
topump,loosentheairbleedplugtoforcefuelwithair
trappedinsidetogooutthroughthebleedinghose(1).
9.Repeattheprocedureofpoint8untilfuelwithnoair
goesoutfromthebleedinghose.Tightentheairbleed
plug(2).
Thetighteningtorqueoftheairbleedplugmustbe8
–12N·m(5.9–8.9lbft).

10.Pushtheprimingpiston(3)fullyinwardandturnits
headtotheright.Thepistonisthuslocked.
11.TurnthestarterkeytoOFFposition.
12.Performthesameprocedurefortherightfuelmain
lter.Thepositionsoftheairbleedplug(4)and
theprimingpiston(5)oftherightfuelmainlterare
showninthepicture.
13.Closethebleedingvalve(B).
14.Opentheenginevalve(E).
15.Wipeoffanyspilledfuelaroundtheairbleedplugs
(2)and(4),andattheendofthebleedinghoses(1).
16.Starttheengine,andkeepthespeedtolowidle.Ifthe
enginedoesnotstartatthisstage,repeatthesteps
from1to15,andthentrytostartitagain.
17.Reachthepumpcompartment,andcheckforanyfuel
leakfromthecomponentsofthefuelsupplyline.

18.Getontothecab,andgraduallyincreasetheengine
speedtothemaximum.Keepmaxspeedfor2min,
thensettheenginespeedtolowidleposition.
19.Reachthepumpcompartment,andcheckforanyfuel
leakfromthecomponentsofthefuelsupplyline.
