7.4 Notes on cleaning the unit components

Cylinder strainer
• Knockofforbrushawayanylimescaleasmuchaspos-
sible(donotuseawirebrush).
Ifthepartsareheavilycalcied,placetheminan8%
formicacidsolution(observe safety notes in chap-
ter 7.5),untilthelimescalecomesoff.
• Finallywashpartsinalukewarmsoapsolutionand rinse
well with tap water.
Heating electrodes • Immerse the heating electrodes (up to 2 cm below the
snapfastening)inacontainerwith8-percentformicacid
(observe safety notes in chapter 7.5). Allow the acid
totakeeffectuntilthelimescalehasdissolved.
Note:Theheatingelementsdonothavetobeentirely
freefromscale.
• Finallyrinsetheheatingelectrodeswellwithtapwater
and let them dry.
CAUTION:
Onnoaccountremovelimescalefromthe
heating electrodes using tools (screw driver, scraper,
etc.)orbystriking.Thiscoulddamagetheheatingele-
ments.
Water hoses
• Removeanylimescalebyslightlyknockingonthetubes
using a rubber hammer. Then, rinse the tubes well with
hot tap water.
Inlet valve
Strainer insert
• Removestrainerinsertwithpointedpliers.Useabrush
(donotuseawirebrush)toremoveanylimescale.
• Washstrainerinsertwithalukewarmsoapsolution, then
rinse well with tap water.
Let the inlet valve dry before reinstallation!
