Locate a Problem with Basic Printer Functions

sourceoftheproblembeforeyoucontactyourserviceprovider.
1. Makesurethatthepowercordispluggedinandtheprinterispoweredon.

IftheprinterpowersonbutdoesnotdisplayReady,theprinterisnotworkingproperly.
Requestservicefortheprinter.
Iftheprinterdoesnotpoweron,makesurethattheprinterpowersupplyisworking
properly.
Ifthepowersupplyisworkingproperly,requestservicefortheprinterfromyour
systemadministrator.
Ifthepowersupplyisnotfunctioning,replaceitandbeginwithstep1.

Ifthetestcardprints,theprinterisworkingcorrectly.Continuetostep4.
Ifthetestcarddoes notprint,theprinterisnotworkingcorrectly.Requestserviceforthe

4. Connecttheprinterdatacable,ifnecessary.Makesurethatyouusethesametypeofcable
(USBornetwork)usedwhentheprinterwasinstalled.
5. IfyouusetheXPSCardPrinter
Driver,printadriversamplecard.Forthestepstofollow,refer
toyourprinter’sDriverGuide.
Ifthesamplecardprints,theprinteranddriverareworkingcorrectly.Continuetostep6.
Ifthesamplecarddoesnotprint,theprinteranddriverhaveacommunicationproblem.
Determinethecauseoftheproblemandtrythesamplecardagain.
IfyoudonotusetheCardPrinterDriver,askyourserviceproviderorsoftwareproviderfor
assistance.
