Encoder Set-up
To check the encoder installation, the test message 'z_encoder_ad' can be
loaded and printed. The message is shown below.
Define your group set-up prior to installation.
From the printed test message, the value 'P' for the installation can be
calculated by following these steps:
(1) Measure the actual printed distance 'M' from 0 to 50mm. For this
example we will assume the distance is 62mm.
(2) Take the measured distance and use it in the following equation:
Required Encoder direction/res value = (P/M) * D
= (100500/62) * 50
= 80645 (This value of 'P' for your install)
To achieve the most accurate encoder set-up the measurement must be
performed over the maximum allowable distance (i.e. 200mm).
