FILE TRANSFER
FTP for Standard Controller
FTP (File Transfer Protocol), previously available for the OEM controller, can
now be used for the standard controller.
Note: To use FTP for the standard controller, software version V2.30.0 or
newer must be installed.
FTP can be used to update existing files stored on the controller’s internal
flash card and is particularly useful for transferring messages created using the
PC based G-Series simulator to the controller.
Though commercial FTP programs are available, the standard Windows File
Explorer can also be used to copy / paste files from source to target folders.
To browse to the controller, ensure that a TCP/IP connection is made and
then enter: ftp://servicepass@ipaddressofprinter into Windows Explorer
For example, for a G-Series with an IP Address of 192.168.127.241 the entry
would be:
ftp://servicepass@192.168.127.241
This will then allow you to: browse to the internal flash card, access the files
on the card and to copy files created using the simulator to the G-Series.
