Room temperature has an influence on the behaviour of the fluid dynamics of
the ink - cartridges should always be operated within the temperature ranges
as specified on the MSDS
Notes: (1) Always use a soft, lint-free tissue – fibres can scratch and/or block the
nozzles.
(2) Never use any fluids for cleaning – aqueous and solvent inks react
differently to cleaning liquids. What might work on one type of ink may
cause the dye to drop another type out of suspension.
(3) Clean gently – too much force can damage the nozzles, contacts or even
the ink pouch inside the cartridge.
(4) Check the nozzle status alarm to see if any permanent damage has been
caused to the thermal firing resistors.
(5) Adhere to correct storage of cartridges during variable printing cycles.
(6) Set a micro-purge routine into the production schedule.
Purging Options
There are 2 types of micro purge available: Cyclic and Intelligent.
Cyclic Micro Purge
• Purge activated by printer internal clock.
• Purge every x minutes (user defined).
• Purge settings based mainly on ink specifications.
• Purge to prevent effects of unpredictable long production stops and
manage print recovery with very quick dry time inks.
Intelligent Micro Purge
• Purge activated by print trigger.
• Purge before printing if no printing during x minutes (user defined).
• Purge settings based mainly on application specifications (time between
messages and time with no print at production stop).
• Preference to set micro purge for production pace.
Note: Micro Purge only works if the group is active and printing.
Intelligent Micro Purge takes priority to cyclic micro purge when both are
activated.
