MESSAGE MANAGEMENT
Before creating messages for the first time, ensure the message parameters that
will be applied by default (i.e. Global Print definition) are satisfactory. Make
any edits as required.
Note: Message parameters for a message can be set that will apply only for that
message (i.e. Local Print definition).
Global (Default) Message Print Definition
To view/edit the message parameters that are applied by default to all new
messages:
(1) Ensure “User Type” is set to “Settings”.
(2) In the Service menu, select Production | Default Print Definition to open
the “Default Print Definition” screen.
(3) Edit the default settings, as required.
(4) Select “Accept New Values”.
Message height and Message width is the print area in millimetres and the
frame in which fields will be positioned.
Forward margin is used to add space before the message to position it
correctly on the product whatever the direction of product travel.
In the following example, a D-Top (print signal) is used to initiate the
printing of a message which prints 3 times per print signal.
