OPERATION
3-52 25257 Issue 3 November 2013
Perform the following steps, repeating until print quality has improved.
(1) Wiping the print head plate - the
cartridge can remain inside the
head or be held in your hand
Always use a soft, lint-free tissue and
gently wipe debris from the nozzle face,
including the underside of the head plate.
Wipe several times, using fresh parts of
the tissue to ensure you do not rub debris
back into the nozzles. Too much force
can damage the nozzle face
Result: Debris is removed and ink can be fired without being deviated by
contamination around the nozzle face.
Result: A greater amount of debris is removed
from inside the nozzles and ink can be fired
without being heavily deviated by
contamination around the nozzle face.
(2) Micro-Purge
To keep continuous ink flow through the nozzles when the application
is operating a start-stop printing cycle. A micro-purge may be set to fire
the nozzles during periods of inactivity.
By navigating to the Ink Menu the two micro-purge configurations
(Cyclic and Intelligent) can be set. Paper can then be passed underneath
the nozzle plate during purging to ascertain which nozzles are firing
correctly. The image below shows a printout during a manual micro-
purge with several blocks of nozzles missing.
Contact Domino if further guidance on micro-purging is required.
