How to Connect External
Devices to a Board
To connect external devices to the DS1103
C
CAUTION! Connecting external devices while the power supply
is switched on may damage the dSPACE hardware.
ā Do not connect or disconnect any device while the power supply is
switched on.
ā Turn off the host PC, the expansion box (if used), and the external
devices beforehand.
1 Turn off all external devices which are to be connected to the
dSPACE system
2 Turn off the host PC.

Do not switch off the expansion box while the host PC is still
running. This might lead to unpredictable errors.
3 Turn off the expansion box and all devices connected to it.
4 Disconnect the host PC, the expansion box and all devices
connected to them from the power supply.

WARNING! Hazardous voltages.
Risk of electric shock and/or damage to the hardware.
ā Do not connect any high-voltage devices to the I/O connectors of
the hardware.
ā Do not apply voltages/currents outside the specified ranges to the
connector pins. The isolation of the panels has been designed for
low-voltage operation only.
5 Connect the devices belonging to your application to the board.
6 Reconnect the host PC, the expansion box and all external devices
to the power supply.
