How to Connect External
Devices to a Board
To connect external devices to the DS1103
C
CAUTION! Connecting external devices while the power supply
is switched on may damage the dSPACE hardware.
ā–  Do not connect or disconnect any device while the power supply is
switched on.
ā–  Turn off the host PC, the expansion box (if used), and the external
devices beforehand.
1 Turn off all external devices which are to be connected to the
dSPACE system
2 Turn off the host PC.

Do not switch off the expansion box while the host PC is still
running. This might lead to unpredictable errors.
3 Turn off the expansion box and all devices connected to it.
4 Disconnect the host PC, the expansion box and all devices
connected to them from the power supply.

WARNING! Hazardous voltages.
Risk of electric shock and/or damage to the hardware.
ā–  Do not connect any high-voltage devices to the I/O connectors of
the hardware.
ā–  Do not apply voltages/currents outside the specified ranges to the
connector pins. The isolation of the panels has been designed for
low-voltage operation only.
5 Connect the devices belonging to your application to the board.
6 Reconnect the host PC, the expansion box and all external devices
to the power supply.
