TCP/IP Protocol
When you check the installation of the TCP/IP protocol with the ping
command, the following error messages may occur:
Error message Bad command or file name
The TCP/IP protocol has not been installed properly.
Install the TCP/IP protocol again.
Error message The name specified is not recognized as an internal or
external command, operable program or batch file
The TCP/IP protocol has not been installed properly.
Install the TCP/IP protocol again.
Error message Unable to contact IP driver, error code x
The TCP/IP protocol has not been installed properly.
Install the TCP/IP protocol again.
Error message Pinging 127.0.0.1 with x bytes of data:
Request timed out
The TCP/IP protocol has not been configured properly.
Check the configuration of the TCP/IP protocol. If you are
uncertain, ask your system administrator.
