❏ When scanning award certicates and other thick originals (originals with a thickness of 127 g/m² or
more), switch the scanner to the straight path position and load only one original at a time.
You can check the scanner position from the scanner position icon on the panel. If is displayed, the
scanner is in the straight path position.If
is displayed, pull the lever on the back to tilt the scanner
back.
When scanning in the straight path position, make sure there is enough space in front of the scanner for the
ejected originals.
Also, if the ejected originals hit the surface of the table on which the scanner is placed and this aects the
scanned image, move the scanner to the edge of the table so that the ejected originals can drop and catch
them directly.
8. Adjust the edge guides to
t
the edges of the original so that there are no gaps. Otherwise, the original may be
fed skewed.
