The table below summarizes the different types of cables used for cabling of the offered
ETERNUS CS800 S6 configurations.
Every FC port can be configured for PPT.
Initially all FC ports are configured with the VTL target role. The port role can be
changed on page Configuration > System > FC Initiators & Targets of the Remote
Management Console.
Connecting the iRMC port is possible but typically not necessary. For example the
monitoring of the server hardware is included to the general monitoring provided by the
ETERNUS CS800 itself.
The service port of the CS800 should not be connected to the LAN.
CS800 Labelsheet
Together with each ETERNUS CS800 S6 a label sheet is delivered. The stickers on it are
intended to label the storages modules and their power cables (CE, DE-x, JX40-x) as well as
the internal LAN and FC cables to connect the DX100 to the server of the Scale model.
The cells within the tables below should represent the labels. All components delivered with
the initial order of the system are already labeled in the factory, i.e. the appropriate positions
at the sheet will be empty. The remaining labels are either obsolete (e.g. for a different model
of ETERNUS CS800 S6) or may be needed in the future to label additional storage modules
purchased for system enhancement.
