16.5 Flight plan
16.5.1 What
A flight plan consists of the following information:
● Flight lines
● Waypoints
● Launching location
● Landing location
The X100 uses the flight plan as guideline for the flight.
16.5.2 Parameters
The following parameters are translated into a flight plan:
● Defined scan area
● Flight height/GSD
● Picture overlap
● Launching location and direction
● Landing location and direction
16.6 Flight and scan lines
16.6.1 Flight line
A flight line is a line the X100 follows between two waypoints during its flight. Flight lines are
created in Quickfield when defining the scan area. The number of flight lines depends on the
following settings:
● Flight height (Altitude): A higher altitude results in less lines.
● Picture forward and sideways overlap: A higher overlap results in more lines.
Flight lines are perpendicular to the indicated wind direction. Be aware that the X100 will fly
outside the scan area to make its turns (±300 m).
16.6.2 Scan line
A scan line is a flight line on which the X100 takes pictures.
