Monitor the X100 autopilot initialization
17.8.1 GPS field
The GPS field in Horizon indicates if the X100 has acquired a locked GPS location by 4 satel-
lites. Three satellites are needed to provide the position on the three axes (X, Y and Z) and one
satellite to provide timing corrections.
This field can have the following values:

OTE: You can monitor this process in Virtual-GPS on your GCS.
17.8.2 READY field
The READY field in Horizon indicates whether the sensors of the eBox (airspeed sensor,
accelerometers, altitude pressure sensor, gyros, ...) are fully initialized or not:
This field can have the following values:

OTE: The initialization of the X100 takes about 25 seconds. In its final steps the aircraft will
move its elevons up and down once.
Message Color Description
0SAT red No satellite signal is received. The time to acquire
a GPS lock can range between 3 and 30 minutes
depending on:
Time since last GPS lock
Distance to previous locked GPS location
GPS signal strength
FIXS red A good satellite signal is received from one up to
three satellites.
GPS green A good satellite signal is received from at least four
satellites.
Message Color Description
READY red The X100 is not fully initialized.
READY green The X100 is fully initialized.
