Failsafes
23.1.3 Handle loss of GPS lock before launch
Scenario:
The X100 has lost its GPS lock. The GPS status bar field in Horizon turns red.
W
ARNING: Be careful: There is no automatic fail-safe mechanism that prevents you from
arming and launching the X100. It is your responsibility to take the appropriate actions.
1 Abort the launch procedure.
2 Make sure that no obstacle is blocking the GPS signal.
3 Wait a few minutes for the GPS lock.
4 If the GPS lock is re-established (GPS status bar field in Horizon is green), continue with
the launch procedure. If the GPS cannot lock, put the X100 in STANDBY mode and con-
tact your local dealer.
23.1.4 Handle a communication link failure before launch
Scenario:
The communication link between the GCS and the X100 is disconnected. The LINK status bar
field in Horizon turns red. You cannot arm the GCS; this is an automatic fail-safe mechanism
to avoid launching with no communication link.
1 Abort the launch procedure and put the X100 in STANDBY mode.
2 Re-connect the battery.
3 Initiate the communication link.
4 If the communication link is established (LINK status bar field in Horizon is green), con-
tinue with the launch procedure. If the communication link is still failing, contact your local
dealer.
23.1.5 Handle a fatal error before launch
Scenario:
There is a hardware malfunction of the X100 autopilot (e.g. accelerometer failure). Horizon
displays a red warning message in the warning message strip. The X100 icon on the screen
of your GCS colors red. Be careful: there is no automatic fail-safe mechanism that prevents
you from arming and launching the X100. It is your responsibility to take the appropriate
actions.
1 Abort the launch procedure and put the X100 in STANDBY mode.
2 Contact your local dealer.
23.1.6 Handle a low battery warning during flight
Scenario:
If the battery voltage drops below 10.2 V in flight, Horizon displays a yellow warning message
in the warning message strip. If the battery voltage stays below 10.2 V for more then 5 s,
Horizon displays a red error message in the warning message strip.
