GCS with:
● Quickfield software installed
● Horizon software installed
● Created project
● GPS position
Creating a flight plan is typically done in the field.
1 Open Quickfield and click Open Project on the opening screen.
2 Select your project from the list of created projects and click Load to use it.
N
OTE: After you created and saved a project, you can immediately create a flight plan
using this project by clicking Next.
3 Define the scan area. The default scan area is shown on the Flight map as a yellow rect-
angle. The North is situated at the top of the Flight map.
● Indicate the prevailing wind direction with the yellow arrow pointing to the scan area.
When you move the arrow, the scan area rotates accordingly.
N
OTE: Indicating the correct wind direction is important to ensure smooth turns and
limited tail/head wind during flight.
● Resize and reposition the scan area by repositioning the boundary points. The long
edge of the scan area should be perpendicular to the wind direction.
● Selected surface shows the current size of the scan area. The size of the scan area
influences the flight duration.
N
OTE: Be aware that the X100 will fly outside the scan area to make its turns (±300 m).
4 Define the scan area properties:
● Flight height (Altitude)
● GSD
● Overlap
5 Set the launching location and direction. Go to the location where you want the X100 to
take off and click Fix in the Fix Take-off Location area.
N
OTE: When no GPS lock can be acquired, a dialog informs you about this.
N
OTE: The actual take-off direction is determined by the placement of the launcher and
is not influenced by the take-off direction set here. It is however important to match these
two directions to ensure an accurate simulation in Horizon.

A blue Gatewing logo appears on the Flight map indicating the take-off
location. Specify the take-off direction with the arrow. Always set the take-off direction into
the prevailing wind direction and clear from obstacles.
