5.3 Assembling the base unit
The machine must be installed and deployed only vertically! The
base unit must be aligned parallel to the building or scaffold.
The distance between the ladder track and the vertical scaffold post
when fastening to a scaffold shall be 0.35 m.
The distance between the ladder track and the wall when fastening to
a wall shall be 0.52 m.
Position the foot section on the support points on load distributors
and level bases and align (refer to Chapter 3.5). Observe load-
bearing capacity of the foundation!
The foot section must be supported on a minimum area of
0.2 m x 0.7 m (0.14 m
2
).
Secure the foot against moving with
pegs (5).
Drive the pegs (5) in at an angle
from the rack side of the ladder.
Alternatively, the foot can also
be secured with plugs.
WARNING
Hazard to life through the base unit slipping or tilting.
If it is not possible to secure the foot, an anchorage point shall be
provided at a height of approximately 0.9 m.
Vertically align the base mast from the start using a spirit level. This
must also be checked when attaching each rail mount (anchor point).
