8.3.4 Check the ladder interlocks and bolted connections
• Check the ladder interlock
− All interlock levers of the ladder sections must be closed (pointing
vertically downwards), except for the top one (last). This must remain
open.

The locking bolts (1) must
protrude beyond the ladder beam
on the narrow side of the ladder
and be easily visible.
• Ladder ties
Check the bolts on the ladder track and building for security.
Tightening torque (scaffold couplings) = 50 Nm
• Check the limit-switch approach bar for security.
