5.6 Check after assembly and before each operation
• Check to ensure that
− the ladder track is vertical.
− the gear racks are adequately greased.
− all the rail brackets required have been carefully mounted on the
ladder track and the associated fastening tubes carefully mounted on
the brickwork or scaffolding.
− all interlock levers of the ladder sections (excluding the top one) are
closed (are positioned vertically downwards).
− the specified maintenance work and inspection procedures have
been carried out.
− there is no oil leaking on the gear motor.
− the supply cable has an adequate cross section.
− the direction of rotation of the motor agrees with the UP and DOWN
buttons and the EMERGENCY STOP buttons interrupt travel.
− the top interlocking lever or limit switch approach bar interrupts the
ascent.
− the length of cable of the spring-loaded cable reel is sufficient for the
assembly height.
− Excluding the access, the danger area to the load carrying device at
the lower loading point is cordoned off.
− Information plates are present and legible (see Appendix A)
• Carry out a function check of the manual control (ground control).
• There must be no sign of damage to the trailing cable, mains supply
line and control lines.
• Carry out a drop test to check the function of the safety gear.
(Refer to Chapter 8.5.2).
Check the GEDA 200 Z according to national regulations after
assembly and before initial commissioning, as well as after each
assembly at a new construction site or any other new site.
