Note
Continuous Measurement Enabled:
After measurement, enters the Trigger Wait State. When the trigger source
setting is IMMediate, the next trigger occurs immediately (the Free-Run State).
Continuous Measurement Disabled:
After measurement, enters the Idle State instead of the Trigger Wait State.
Triggering is ignored in the Idle State. Executing :INITiate[:IMMediate] enables
the Trigger Wait State.
The following commands do not apply to temperature measurement.
:INITiate:CONTinuous
Continuous measurement is enabled upon exit from the Remote State.

Description
Switches triggering from the Idle State to the Trigger Wait State.
Example
Disable continuous measurement, and read one value for each trigger event

:INIT ...........................Enable Trigger Wait Trigger immediately

Error
An execution error occurs when continuous measurement is enabled
(:INITIATE:CONTINUOUS ON).
Note
When the trigger source is IMMediate, triggering occurs immediately before
entering the Idle State.
When the trigger source is EXTernal, the Trigger Wait State is enabled to wait
for an external trigger, and when a trigger occurs, one measurement is taken
before entering the Idle State.
The following commands do not apply to temperature measurement.
