16.3 Removing the Battery Before Discarding the Product

WARNING
To avoid the risk of electric shock, be sure that all cables
and the power cord are disconnected before removing
the battery.
Keep batteries away from children to prevent accidental
swallowing.
To avoid the possibility of explosion, do not short circuit,
disassemble or incinerate battery pack. Handle and
dispose of batteries in accordance with local regulations.

16.3 Removing the Battery Before
Discarding the Product
The product incorporates a lithium battery for memory
backup.
Before final disposal of the product, remove the lithium
battery as described below.
Removing the battery
1. Check that the product is powered OFF.
2. Remove the four screws which is holding on
the rear panel with a Phillips screwdriver
(see Figure 1).
3. Remove the case of printer connecting
portion.
4. Remove the two hidden screws in the cover
using a Phillips screwdriver (see Figure 2).
5. Remove the upper case (front).
6. Wrench up the battery, and cut the positive
(+) connection with nippers (see Figure 3).
7. Wrench the battery up further.
8. Cut the negative (-) connection, which was
underneath the battery.
