C-6 Appendix C
HotSwap Disk Bay (D Class Only)
Back Plane for HotSwap Module
The HotSwap backplanes contain either two rows of 96-pin Eurocard connector for the
model D2xx system upgrade package, or 5 rows for the model D3xx system. The F/W
SCSI bus connects to the top edge of the backplane through a 68-pin connector. It is then
routed through the backplane to each of the 96 pin connectors and the permanently
mounted passive terminators at the bottom. The backplane also provides all module
power, a diagnostic LED for cable connectivity and a SCSI reset circuit to de-glitch the
hot plug events.
