Support Information
BCH Warning Messages
When BCH first comes up, these warning messages may be generated if problems or certain
conditions are found during selftest, initialization or specific checks done in bootstrap code.

Warning Message Definition Description
WARNING: The System board LAN_ID
<lan-id string> has been copied to the
Processor board.
Normal following replacement of the
Processor. No action required.
WARNING: The System board LAN ID is
different from the Processor board LAN ID.
The automatic copy of LAN ID from Syste
board to Processor board (or vice versa) failed.
Replace either the Processor or System board.
WARNING: Stop boot flag set - system cannot
boot.
This message accompanies those warnings
that prevent the system from booting. Look
up the accompanying message and take
appropriate action.
WARNING: Not enough memory to boot to
OS.
Ensure that the minimum amount of memory
is installed.
WARNING: Setting DEFAULTS has failed. The MFIOC chip failed. Replace the system
board.
WARNING: Failed Remote Diagnose Register
self test.*
Processor failed Remote Diagnose Register
test. Replace Processor/Memory card.
WARNING: The Bus Adapter has failed. The MFIOC chip failed. Replace System
Board.
WARNING: The processor failed the
multimedia instruction selftest.*
Replace the Processor/Memory card.
WARNING: The EISA adapter has failed. Replace the System Board.
WARNING: PDH IO Control Register Test
has failed.
Replace the System Board.
WARNING: Not enough error-free contiguous
memory (GoodMem). Refer to the ‘ME’
command in the SERVICE menu for error
information.
Troubleshoot memory subsystem by checking
that all installed memory is recognized by the
system (via ME command) and check the
Page Deallocation Table (PDT). Replace
SIMMs as necessary.
WARNING: Memory page deallocation has
bee disabled because the Page Deallocation
Table (PDT) is full. If the Boot command is
disabled, a memory error was detected after
the table was full. Refer to the ‘PDT’
command in the SERVICE menu for error
information
Check PDT and replace SIMMs as necessary.
