4.2.1 Unpacking Precautions
Before you install the ROCKY-4786EVG CPU card, you must unpack the CPU card. Some
components on ROCKY-4786EVG are very sensitive to static electricity and can be
damaged by a sudden rush of power. To protect it from being damaged, follow these
precautions:
Ground yourself to remove any static charge before touching your
ROCKY-4786EVG. You can do so by wearing a grounded wrist strap at all
times or by frequently touching any conducting material that is connected
to the ground.
Handle your ROCKY-4786EVG by its edges. Do not touch the IC chips,
leads, or circuitry if not necessary.
Do not place a PCB on top of an anti-static bag. Only the inside of the bag is safe from
static discharge.
