Safety Equipment
General
When you travel on the road or on site there are usually local rules and safety regulations for the machine
travel position.
This publication contains recommendations that may help you meet the requirements of these regulations, they
are not necessarily the applied law.
Make sure that before you travel on the road or on site, you and your machine comply with all the relevant
local laws - it is your responsibility.
Control Lock
WARNING When the hydraulic controls are isolated or if the machine is switched off, it is still possible
to lower the dozer under gravity using the dozer lever. Lower the dozer to the ground before allowing
bystanders into the danger zone, otherwise they could be trapped by the dozer if the dozer lever is
inadvertently moved.
Isolate the Hydraulic Controls
There are three methods of isolating the machines hydraulic controls:
1. Raise the controls isolation lever. This is the standard method for isolating the hydraulic controls.
Refer to: Control Lock (Page 43).
2. Push the control isolation switch. This is an optional method for isolating the hydraulic controls if the control
isolation switch is fitted.
3. Unfasten the seat belt. This is an optional method for isolating the hydraulic controls if the controls isolation
function is enabled through unfastening the seat belt.
Whichever above method used for hydraulic control isolation, When the controls are isolated, hydraulic enable
status symbol will not display on the instrument panel.Refer to: Instrument Panel (Page 47).
WARNING! Isolate the controls when not in use and when there are persons in the danger zone, to avoid
accidentally operating the controls and causing a dangerous movement of the machine. Before adjusting the
cab environment, e.g. opening the windows or adjusting the seat, you must always isolate the controls.
Enable the Controls
To enable the machines hydraulic controls:
1. If the controls isolation lever is raised to isolate the controls, lower it to enable the controls.
2. Select the control isolation switch after lowering the controls isolation lever to enable the controls. This is
an optional step to enable the controls if the control isolation switch is fitted.
3. Fasten the seat belt after lowering the control isolation lever to enable the controls. This is an optional
method to enable the hydraulic controls if the seat belt fastening function is enabled for controls.
4. Fasten the seat belt and select the control isolation switch after lowering the controls isolation lever to
enable the controls. This is an optional step to enable the controls if the seat belt fastening and control
isolation switch function is selected.
Whichever above method is used for hydraulic controls activation, When the controls are enabled, the hydraulic
enable status symbol is displays on the instrument panel. Refer to: Instrument Panel (Page 47).
The operator must be sat in the seat with the seat belt fastened.
Raise the left hand pod to isolate the hydraulic controls. The isolation of the controls is an integral part of the
safety procedure for leaving the cab. Lower the left hand to enable the hydraulic controls.
