Assembling the forks
Requirements
– Truck parked securely, see page 191.
– Mast lowered.
– Fork carriage raised so that the fork tine can be pushed onto the fork carriage.
– Extension safety mechanism (178) disassembled.
Procedure
• Carefully push the fork tines (28) onto the fork carriage (19).
• Adjust the forks (28), see page 193.
• Bring the locking lever (177) down and move the fork tines (28) until the locking
pin engages in a slot.
WARNING!
Unsecured forks can cause accidents
The forks must be prevented from falling with the extension safety
mechanisms (178). The truck must not be operated without an extension safety
mechanism (178).

Check the extension safety mechanisms (178) are present.

Ensure the extension safety mechanisms (178) are secure.
Assemble the extension safety mechanism (178) and check that it is firmly seated.
The fork tines (28) are mounted on the fork carriage (19).
