2.4 "Bar display" battery discharge indicator

The standard setting for the battery discharge indicator / discharge monitor is based
on standard batteries. When using maintenance-free or special batteries, the display
and cut-out points of the battery discharge monitor must be set by manufacturer's
service department. If this adjustment is not made, the battery may become
damaged due to deep discharge.
NOTICE
Full discharge can damage the battery
Self-discharge can cause the battery to fully discharge. Full discharge shortens the
useful life of the battery.

Charge the battery at least every 2 months.

Requirements
– Connect the battery to the truck.
– Close the battery cover.
– Enter the operator position, see
page 121.
Procedure
• Turn the EMERGENCY DISCONNECT
switch (9) to unlock it.
• Switch on the truck, to do this:
• Insert the key in the key switch (8) and turn it as far right as it will go.
• Hold the card or transponder in front of the ISM access module (23) and
depending on the setting press the green button on the ISM access
module (23) (o).
The battery discharge indicator in the driver's display (107) shows the available
battery capacity.

The lower section of the battery symbol is empty. It indicates the residual capacity of
the battery which is protected and cannot be used to avoid damaging the battery.
