4 Remote Programming Reference
Introduction
This chapter provides general information on writing SCPI programs for the
81150A / 81160A.
4.1 Keysight 81150A / 81160A Remote Control
Introduction
The Keysight 81150A / 81160A has two modes of operation:
Local The Instrument can be operated using the front panel keys.
Remote After receiving the first command or query via the GPIB,
USB or LAN, the instrument is put into the remote state and the front
panel is locked. To return to the local operating mode, press the
Local key on the Front Panel.
USB
The USB interface requires no front panel configuration parameters. Just
connect your Keysight 81150A / 81160A to your PC using a standard USB
cable and the interface will self configure.
LAN
There are several parameters that you may need to set to establish network
communication using the LAN interface. Primarily, you will need to establish
an IP address. You may need to contact your network administrator for help
in establishing communication with the LAN interface.
