This description applies analogously to all of the industrial robots listed in Chapter 1,
regardless of the variant or model shown in the illustrations.
3.1 General
The industrial robot consists of the manipulator (= robot arm and electrical installations), con-
trol cabinet and connecting cables (Fig. 1). The manipulator is described in this chapter.
The control cabinet and connecting cables are described in other Doc. Modules.

This section is subdivided in accordance with the breakdown of the manipulator into its main
subassemblies.
The robot structure is of modular design, i.e. the components described below can be
combined in certain configurations to produce the relevant variants. With the F variant, the
special requirements of the lubricant must be observed during maintenance.
