12.7 Removal, installation of main axis motor unit A2
Information!
Section 12.1 of this chapter must be observed!
Warning!
If main axis motor unit A2 is to be removed from or installed on an operable
robot, the main switch on the control cabinet must be turned to “OFF” and
secured with a padlock to prevent unauthorized persons from switching it on
again.
D Removal
Caution!
If main axis motor unit A2 is removed immediately after the robot has stopped
operating, it is liable to have an elevated surface temperature.
(1) Secure the link arm.
D For all robot installation positions
(2) Move the link arm into a vertical position -- if still possible -- and the arm into a horizontal
position (Fig. 121). With wall--mounted robots, move A1 into zero position as well.
Warning!
Turn the main switch on the robot control cabinet to “OFF” and secure it with a
padlock to prevent unauthorized persons from switching it on again.
(3) Secure the link arm appropriately, e.g. with lifting tackle or propped from below
(Fig. 121).
Caution!
The link arm must not move when main axis motor unit A2 is being removed or
after it has been removed in any of the installation versions of the robot.
(4) Continue with step (7).
