Safe stop 1 (SS1)
This funcon c
orresponds to a "Stop 1" according to EN 60204.
The funcon monitors the parameterized stopping me of the drive (n = 0) and switches the
drive to torque-free operaon via the mode parameterized in 0x2897:001.
Precondions
The drive is brought to standsll via the applicaon.
Movements caused by external forces require addional measures. When the stopping me is
dened, the applicaon me of the brake must be taken into consideraon.
The restart is possible aer the stopping me has completely elapsed. An excepon from this
is the special operaon.

n = 0 means that the speed of the motor is lower than the motor speed

The switching operaon is triggered regardless of whether the motor is
at standsll or not!
With this parameterizaon the motor comes to a standsll.
The deceleraon n = 0 selecon is parameterized in the following
parameter: 0x2897:002
Curve (a): The motor comes to a standsll within the parameterized
stopping me.
Curve (a): The deceleraon parameterized in 0x2897:002 starts when
the speed is lower than the tolerance window of the motor speed
parameterized in 0x287B:001.
The inverter switches to STO aer the speed threshold has reached n=0
and the deceleraon me 0x2887:002 has elapsed.
Curve (b): The motor is not yet at standsll at the moment of STO.
Switching o with STO causes the motor to coast to a halt.
Curve (b): If the deceleraon ramp is set too long, the system switches to
STO aer the stopping me has elapsed. In the case shown here, the
motor coasts to a halt.

Note the following when seng the stopping me 0x2894:001:

If an enc
oder is available: 0x2878:001 ≠ 0
•
The speed is calculated from the encoder data.
•
For 0x2897:001 = 1 (STO at n=0), a delay me between the standsll of the motor and
the acvaon of STO can be specied in 0x2897:002.
•
If no encoder is available: 0x2878:001 = 0
•
The funcon evaluates the speed status from the inverter. "n = 0" is reached at speed
n ≤ 5 rpm.
•
The stopping me 0x2894:001 monitored by the safety device must be parameterized
0.5 s greater than the stop me parameterized in the inverter.
