3.4.7 Tool magazine
The tool magazine of the system can accommodate up to 15 tools (ProtoMat S64) or
20 tools (ProtoMat S104). At the beginning of the process, the tools are inserted into
the tool magazine and assigned to the respective tool holder positions in the software.
Picking up and adjusting the tools as well as depth adjustment via the tool adjustment
station (see page 35) are fully automated during the process.

If you have a ProtoMat S64 you can buy an expansion of the tool magazine from 15
tools to 20 tools. Note that the installation of the tool holder kit and the configuration of
the system has to be performed by the LPKF Service or your local representative.
Cleaning device for tools
Additionally, you can load the tool magazine with a cleaning device for tools. It is
included in the accessories bag:
The cleaning device removes chips from your drilling tools used > 0.8 mm, before they
are put down into the corresponding tool holder.
