6.3 Typical production process
This chapter describes a typical production process.
The following example describes how to produce a double-sided PCB without
through-hole plating. This task as well as other applications are covered in the
manual CircuitPro PM How-to guides.
Advanced information
In combination with the system software, the SX4 series offers an e-mail notification
function that can be activated/deactivated in the menu Options. Thus, you will be
informed via e-mail about status changes, system messages, and required user input
during production. For more information on installing and using this function refer to
CircuitPro PM Compendium.
Before performing the steps, ensure that the following consumables and auxiliaries
are available:
Base material FR4, l FR4, copper-clad
(18 μm) on both sides

1 Set milling tools (drill/contour router for
LPKF ProtoMat)
Protective gloves
In this manual, the following steps are executed:
Switching on the system
Preparing the data
Processing the material
Switching off the system
6.3.1 Switching on the system
This is done by executing the following steps:
Switching on the system and the components
Starting CircuitPro PM
Connecting the system to the PC manually (if necessary)
Switching on the system and the components
1. Start the PC.
2. Start the extraction system.
3. Switch the On/Off switch of the system to position I.
The system and the components have been switched on.
