Procedure 9: Connecting CX950 to Power Source
This procedure assumes that no I/O cards are cabled to external network devices.
WARNING:
The CX950 must be connected only to a socket-outlet with a protective
earth connection.
WARNING:
Ensure that the power source outlet is located /installed near the equip-
ment and is easily accessible.
To connect the CX950 to a power source:
1. Confirm that the CX950’s voltage rating is compatible with the voltage
available in the country where it will operate.
2. Push the power cable’s female three-wire plug onto the male three-pin
connector in the power entry module on the chassis’ rear panel.
3. Plug the opposite connector of the power cable to the source of power.
Procedure 10: Connecting CX950 to PC
This procedure assumes that the CX950 is connected to its power source but remain
powered-off.
To connect the CX950 to a Personal Computer (PC):
1. Locate the RJ-12 -DB9 cable (part # CBLA0024-610) that is shipped with the
unit. Push the RJ-12 connector into the jack labeled CONSOLE on the
chassis’ rear panel until it clicks into place.
2. Connect and screw down the cable’s female DB-9 connector to the PC’s male
DB-9 connector.
Once the CX950 and PC are powered-up, you can configure the software that resides
on the CX950’s motherboard or monitor its I/O card’s traffic.
Procedure 11: Connecting CX950 to Network Devices
This procedure assumes that the CX950 is connected to its power source but remain
powered off.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of fire, use only No. 26 AWG or larger telecommuni-
cation line cord.
To connect the CX950 to network devices:
