Press the key.
• The media thickness will be measured automatically.
• The measured thickness will be displayed.

Press the key.
• The carriage will return to the cap position.
• When "FRONT+REAR" is selected for the thickness
measurement area, measure the FRONT side and then
return to step 9 to measure the REAR side.
• When "FRONT+REAR" is selected for the thickness
measurement area, measure the REAR side and then
return to step 7.
• When "FRONT" or "REAR" is selected for the thickness
measurement area, proceed to step 11.

Press to select whether to apply the
measured value also to the other media.
NO : Updates the value set only for the area where the thickness is measured.
YES : Updates the value set for both FRONT/REAR areas to the measured thickness.

Press the key several times to end the setting.
Registering head gap value
• Difference of automatic measure is ±0.1mm.
• The same head gap value is set for both the FRONT side and REAR side. The specified head gap
value is applied to both FRONT-side and REAR-side areas.
• For details about the setting procedure, refer to P.3-6 "Registering Head gap value".
