CHAPTER 5 MANUFACTURER’S INFORMATION
C-6 TRANSMISSION SERVICE
1. Remove jack.
2. Connect vacuum line to vacuum diaphragm making sure that line is in retaining clip.
3. Connect oil cooler lines to transmission.
4. Connect downshift and manual linkage rods or cable controls to their respective
levers on the transmission.
5. Secure converter-to-ywheel attaching nuts and tighten them to 20-30 ft-lbs.
6. Install converter housing access cover and secure it with attaching bolts.
7. Install new lter and pan gasket, and ll transmission with oil.
8. Connect neutral switch wire to plug connector.
9. Connect temperature sender wire.
10. Connect oil cooler lines to transmission and install oil ller tube.
11. Install dust shield in front of converter assembly.
12. Install engine/transmission assembly into the unit.
13. Connect the battery negative cable.
14. Place gear shift lever in neutral position. Install gear shift cable.
15. Connect wires to neutral starting switch and temperature sending unit.
16. Install park brake cable.
17. Adjust shift cable as required.
18. Start engine and again check for leaks.
