starting if the transmission is in any shift position other than NEUTRAL.

the engine with the gear shift lever in each shift position. This switch is a
combination unit located on the automatic transmission shifter shaft in the
engine package.
1. Remove clevis pin holding shifter arm to cable clevis.
2. Connect a volt-ohm meter (on resistance range) or a continuity tester
across both Red/Blue wires coming out of the switch.
3. Loosen hold-down bolts on switch and rotate switch until contact opens for
the same throw of shifter arm either side of Neutral.
4. Retighten switch bolts and recheck adjustment.
5. Replace clevis pin.
