4. Review the program's details. To see a graph of the program, press Graph.
5. Press Enable to activate the selected Basal Program. e Home screen
displays the name of the newly activated Basal Program.
Note: You must cancel a running temp basal prior to switching to a dierent Basal
Program (see "Cancel a temp basal" on page 58).You can, however, switch Basal
Programs when an extended bolus is running.
For instructions for adding or editing Basal Programs, see "Basal Programs" on
page 65.
Suspending and Resuming Basal Insulin Delivery
Sometimes you may need to stop insulin delivery briey. For example, you must
suspend insulin delivery prior to editing an active Basal Program or resetting the
time or date. e Omnipod® System lets you suspend all insulin delivery for up to
two hours.
To help understand the dierence between stopping insulin delivery using the
suspend feature or the temp basal feature, see "Methods to temporarily stop
insulin delivery" on page 142.
Suspend insulin delivery
1. From the Home screen, press Suspend.
2. Use the Up/Down button to specify the duration
of the suspension. e suspension can last from
30 minutes up to 2 hours and can be adjusted in
30-minute increments.
3. Press Enter.
4. Press Conrm to conrm that you want to halt all
insulin delivery.
e basal insulin delivery is suspended. e Status
screen displays INSULIN SUSPENDED until you
resume insulin delivery.
e Pod beeps every 15 minutes throughout the
suspension period. At the end of the suspension period,
the PDM and Pod sound two sets of beeps every three
minutes, repeating every 15 minutes until you have
resumed insulin delivery.
Note: Temp basals or extended bolus are automatically
canceled when you suspend insulin delivery.
