7 Adjusting Settings
Correction Factor
e Bolus Calculator uses your Correction Factor to calculate a correction bolus
when your blood glucose value is above your Correct Above setting (see "e
Bolus Calculator" on page 144). Your Correction Factor can range from 0.1 to 22.2
mmol/L.
You can set dierent Correction Factors for dierent times of day, up to a total of
eight. To edit existing time segments or add segments:
1. Home > Settings > System setup > Bolus/basal/calcs
> Ratios/factors/targets > Correction factor
2. Follow the on-screen instructions, or, for detailed instructions see "Adding
time segments" on page 19.
3. Press Done, then Save when nished modifying the time segments.
Reverse Correction
e reverse correction setting determines how the Bolus Calculator handles meal
boluses when your blood glucose value is below your Target BG (see "Reverse
Correction" on page 146 for more details).
1. Home > Settings > System setup > Bolus/basal/calcs
> Ratios/factors/targets > Reverse correction
2. Choose On or O, and press Next.
Duration of insulin action
e Bolus Calculator uses your duration of insulin action setting to calculate the
amount of insulin on board (IOB) from a previous bolus (see "Insulin on board"
on page 146 for more details). Your duration of insulin action can range from 2 to
6 hours in 30-minute increments and is a xed value throughout the day.
1. Home > Settings > System setup > Bolus/basal/calcs
> Ratios/factors/targets > Insulin action
2. Use the Up/Down button to specify your duration of insulin action, then
press Done.
3. If you have been reviewing all of the Bolus Calculator settings, the screen
informs you that the setup is complete and the Bolus Calculator is On. Press
OK.
